2020 vision - opportunities for skills partnerships in Vietnam
25 March 2010 - 16:45
The dynamism of Vietnam is now spilling over into its education system. Reform of the vocational sector is under way, with proposals for national skills improvement due to pass through the government imminently. This session focuses on the development of the further education sector over the next ten years, on key skill priorities for socio-economic development and the overarching policy themes. It will explore the emerging landscape in vocational education in Vietnam by asking the following questions: What are the main policy drivers that will enable the further education sector to grow? How does college/employer engagement work? What is likely to be the impact of the development of a set of national skill standards that are comparable with those of ASEAN? How are innovation in teaching and the use of new media technologies going to impact Vietnam? What are the opportunities for partnership between UK and Vietnamese providers, and in what sectors (IT, tourism, telecomms, construction)
