Internationalising Higher Education

International links between universities are now moving into a new era. There is a real desire for academics and universities to work in true partnerships that provide a win-win outcome for all involved. In a true partnership there are valuable lessons to be learned for both sides. But does this link model work in developing countries as well as developed countries? This session will consider the following questions:
What are the real benefits of partnerships?
Do they have to be a one-way street?
Which partnership models support true mutuality?
This session will draw on examples from the Pakistan-UK HE Links programme, which now has a three-year history; the BRAC University in Bangladesh; and SHEP - strengthening higher education project (World Bank) in Afghanistan.
