Educational strategies in the quality assurance of TNE
26 March 2010 - 14:00
As part of their educational and internationalisation strategies, the UK, Malaysia and Hong Kong have introduced qualifications
frameworks. They are now developing regulation of foreign providers or programmes through local quality assurance activities, including
accreditation and licensing. This session will consider these strategies in terms of each country's capacity as sender or receiver
of transnational education. It will consider the impact that the introduction of national qualifications frameworks has had
on approaches to accreditation of TNE and what barriers and benefits accreditation may introduce.
This Town Hall meeting caters for a direct dialogue between the presenters, the chair and the participants. The participants are
expected to set the scene by identifying the issues to be explored. Pre-registered topics will be brought to the attention of the Chair of the
session who will organise them into suitable categories. Time permitting, the Town Hall meeting will also be able to address questions
directly from the floor.
