Embedding global citizenship within the student experience
25 March 2010 - 11:30
Universities around the world face the common challenge of developing programmes which will better prepare their graduates to thrive in today's globally networked economies, societies and polities. Such programmes can take many and diverse forms. At their best, they inspire students to think and act as critically engaged global citizens. This session will encourage reflection and debate around how best to prepare students for their role in a global civil society. Jodi Anderson and Laurence Solkin spoke on: Internationalisation and curricular change: fostering global citizenship within the university. Roberto Rabel delivered a speach based upon the subject of: Preparing students for global citizenship: the Victoria International Leadership Programme. the subject of: The globally-oriented curriculum: using an intercultural competency framework to develop student was discussed by Stephen Williams. Pamela Gillies was the Chair at this session
