Fraud and verification: an international response to an international issue
25 March 2010 - 13:45
What do UCAS in the UK, VHS in Sweden and Uni-assist in Germany have in common? Here, it is their interest in fraud and verification. This session explores how these issues are addressed by different organisations. These issues are becoming increasingly complex and important in the arena of international recruitment and admissions and require swift, thorough responses. The speakers will draw attention to the everincreasing international mobility of students, emerging patterns, and those issues which are common to the recruitment of international students across the three countries and worldwide. They will address how each of their respective organisations approaches the issues of verification and fraud, icluding ways of collaborative working on a global scale and adapting to the increasing complexity of fraudulent activities. Delegates will be encouraged to ask questions and offer feedback on how these tough issues could be approached in the future, not only in these three countries but globally
