Internationalising Higher Education

David Graddol is Director of The English Company (UK) Ltd and is Managing Editor of linguistics books and journals for Equinox Publishing. He is joint editor of the CUP journal English Today, and is on the editorial boards of several other journals, including Language Problems and Language Planning and Visual Communication. David's publications include 'The Future of English?', a seminal research document commissioned by the British Council in 1997, and 'English Next' - published by the British Council in 2006. A sequel, focusing on recent developments in India, was published early 2010. Prior to his current position David worked at the UK Open University for 25 years. He is a British applied linguist, well-known as a writer, broadcaster, researcher and consultant on issues relating to global English.
