Dr Dave Burnapp

Dr Dave Burnapp is a Senior Lecturer at University of Northampton and a National Teaching Fellow. He has worked in education and development projects in Vanuatu, Zambia, Algeria and China. Dr Burnapp researches widely into the experiences of students and staff in relation to internationalisation of Higher Education. His research is typified by practical outcomes, in addition to publications, resulting in acculturation courses for international students, development workshops for academic staff and training for supervisors of international research students. He has also researched employers’ awareness concerning recruitment of international students and graduates, and has collaborated with the Higher Education Academy (HEA) subject centre for Languages, Linguistics, and Area Studies to produce an online training pack for staff working with international students.

He is currently designing a Postgraduate Certificate course concerning enhancing the experience of international students. Dr Burnapp is also directing a HEA fellowship project concerning International collaborations, and is on the team for a PMI2 Connect project collaborating with the University Of Shaoguan in China which is producing materials relating to entrepreneurship and cross-cultural awareness. He has published a study skills textbook for international students for the Open University Press.
