Mr Chris Sinclair

Chris Sinclair has taught English as a foreign language in various settings in the UK, Finland, Italy and the Middle East. During the 1990s he worked on a variety of EAP programmes at the University of Hertfordshire and more recently spent a number of years at Cambridge Assessment where he worked on the production and development of a variety of ESOL tests. Since 2004 he has been at the University of Southampton where, as Deputy Director of the Centre for Language Study, his role has been to co-ordinate the various English language teaching and assessment activities offered by the Centre for Language Study; this includes pre-sessional courses, in-sessional EAP support programmes, and an International Foundation Year Programme. He currently teaches a module on Assessment of Language Proficiency on the MA Applied Linguistics at University of Southampton and is a member of the BALEAP Working Group on assessment.
