Prof. Dr Mahmoud Shakir Abdulhussain
Professor Dr Mahmood Shaker Abdulhussain is currently President of the Foundation for Technical Education in Iraq, a position he has held since 2003. Previous roles include Professor at Medical Technologies College, Baghdad, from 2002 to 2003; Professor at Technical College of Baghdad from 1994 to 2002; and Assistant Professor at the Institute of Technology, Baghdad from 1991 to 1993 and at the Technical Institute in Basrah from 1982 to 1991.
Dr Mahmood has published widely in academic journals, as well as writing a number of scientific and academic books. He is a member of many associations including the British Chemistry Association, Iraq Chemistry Association and Iraq Plastic Association. He currently chairs several committees including the Committee for evening studies, the Committee of Technical Colleges, the Productive Activities Committee, the Committee for Private Colleges and the Central Curricula Committee.
Dr Mahmood graduated from the University of Manchester with a Masters in Petroleum and Petro-Chemical Technologies and also graduated from Al-Mustansariya University in Iraq with a PhD in Clinical Bio-Chemistry.
