Professor Orlando Albornoz
Professor Orlando Albornoz is a deeply experienced scholar and currently Professor at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). Born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1932, he was trained in London at the London School of Economics (LSE) and has taught or done research in places as varied as Berkeley, Harvard and Gainesville (USA), Paris, Oxford and London (UK), Santiago (Chile) and New Delhi (India). Professor Albornoz has published widely both in Spanish and in English. He has extensive international experience and was President of the Sociology of Education Working Group at the International Sociological Association as well as Member of the Board at the International Association of Universities. His most recent empirical research is on knowledge production and the factors that affect higher or lower rates of performance.
